 FAQ and T&Cs

When will I get my participant bib?

If you’re joining us on the day at Jells Park, we will provide you with your participant’s bib upon arrival. If you’re joining us virtually, we will be sending these via express postage.

What are the key times on the event day?

  • 8:30am check in and entertainment precinct opens.

  • 9:30am - 10km wave

  • 9:45am - 1km wave (kid’s and patients course)

  • 10:15am 5km wave

How do I register my family as a team?

Select the relevant number of tickets on the registration page (ie. 2 adult tickets, 2 child tickets), then fill out the details of each member. Once this is done, you will be prompted with a question “Are you fundraising in a Team?” to which you can answer “Yes - Create a new team”, and then you can name your family’s team.

Is there a Facebook page I can connect with?

Absolutely! Please head to https://www.facebook.com/groups/mchwalk/ to see the latest updates, and engage with our Walk community.

Can I volunteer if I’m not participating?

Absolutely! If you, or any friends or family, would like to volunteer on the day, please register your interest HERE.

Can I be involved in another way?

Yes! We’re always on the search for musical acts or talents to be part of our event precinct performances, or as course entertainment to motivate our walkers! Get in touch to discuss at foundation@monashhealth.org

My school wants to be involved but can’t come on the day, can we still support?

Yes! We encourage all schools to either hold their own fundraising walk at their school, or promote the Walk in your school newsletters to families. Schools can contact the foundation for more info at foundation@monashhealth.org

How do I fundraise?

To help raise vital funds for Monash Children’s Hospital all you need to do is share the link to your personal fundraising page with as many people as possible. More shares = more opportunity for donations. Make it personal and tell people why you are participating and how their donations will leave a lasting impact for children’s healthcare.

I’m doing the virtual walk and my steps won’t sync!

If you use either the Fitbit or Strava apps (for those doing the virtual walk) you should be able to sync your steps to your page but if for some reason that is not working or you don’t have the apps, you can manually enter your steps.

Are you still providing medals at the end of the walk?

Unfortunately we are no longer providing medals at the finish line - However, you get a fun “I DID IT!” sticker to wear instead.

Where will the funds go?

Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs.

Are donations tax-deductible and do I get a receipt?

All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible and all donors will receive donation receipts to their email address within moments of making a donation online. As the fundraiser, you will only receive a receipt for a donation that you personally make.

The Walk is over, can I still accept donations?

It is really awesome that you joined us for the Walk! The great news is that your fundraising page will remain active until 19 June, so you can keep promoting your page and telling friends and family that you have achieved your goal and they can still make a difference with a donation to Monash Children’s Hospital.

Are there any flashing lights present on the day?

Please be mindful that we may have an ambulance and police car on site who may operate their flashing lights. There may also be a kid’s disco with flashing lights.
